A woman named Gloria Clay created this recipe after sitting down with her breakfast and looking at the ingredients with refreshing creativity. She was gazing down at a spread of Orange Pekoe tea, a slice of orange, and homemade vegan biscuits. It dawned on her that these flavours didn’t only mix well on the dining table, but could be combined in the kitchen. Gloria sent her recipe into The Daily Tea blog, where we stumbled upon it.
At The Tea Haus, we carry a specialty Sweet Orange tea that combines premium Ceylon Orange Pekoe from Sri Lanka with orange peel, orange blossoms, and natural orange flavour. Our customers have compared the taste to “drinking a creamsicle.” This sweet tea is the perfect addition to the orange-infused vegan scone recipe. Swap out the classic Pekoe for this Sweet Orange blend to enhance the flavours in the recipe.
You have probably heard a lot about plant-based recipes and more vegan options sprouting up faster than wheatgrass. Many traditional tea party treats involve pastries or baked goods that are mixed with dairy products or egg. This can leave vegan guests with rumbling tummies.
Gloria’s Vegan Orange Pekoe Tea Scones makes sure that every vegan has a tasty option at the tea party. You can make these for your plant-based pals, or try them out for yourself. Check out the full story behind Gloria’s Tea Scones here >>
